Lab Dimensions
Indoor Lab Dimensions
The indoor lab (MAE-A 313) has a space of about 18 ft by 9 ft by 44 ft (5.5m, 2.75m, 13.5m) for autonomous experiments. The origin of mocap system has been calibrated such that (as of December 21, 2025) there is 9 ft (2.7 5m) of space in the positive y-direction (up), nothing in the negative y-direction (i.e., the origin is on the flooor), 9 ft (2.75 m) of space each way on the x-axis, 20 ft (6 m) of space in the positive z direction, but 24 ft (7.5m) of space in the negative z direction. The positive x axis points from the inside of the building out the west window. The positive z axis points north. The positive y axis points up. Note that is no convention like ENU. It's just how OptiTrack Motive (the mocap software) sets it up.
Outdoor Lab Dimensions
As of December 21, 2025, the outdoor lab (Autonomy Park) is 240 ft (73 m) long, 60 ft (18 m) wide, and 20 ft (7 m) tall. However, it is scheduled to be expanded in Spring 2026.
